When I investigate, I answer one question: Why should readers care? I use good storytelling to humanize news, specializing in policy investigation and long-form features.
I graduated from the University of Kansas with distinction, a bachelor’s degree in English creative writing, and a minor in sociology. Before joining the Law Bulletin, I reported local news and crime as a summer intern at The Desert Sun, a Gannett-owned newspaper in Palm Springs, California, and The Gazette, a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper in Colorado Springs. I explored radio reporting as an Arts and Culture producer for KJHK 90.7 FM. I’ve also reported for USA TODAY College, a national college news blog, and The University Daily Kansan, the KU student-run newspaper.
Hello, future employers? Calling to let you know that I just got a new Bejeweled high score of 640,100. Yes, I’ll hold.
