About

Emily Donovan_news croppedI am a freelance writer and copy editor, a former journalist, and an MFA student in creative writing at Florida Atlantic University.

From 2016 to 2017, I joined the Law Bulletin Publishing Company as a staff writer for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer magazine.

I graduated from the University of Kansas with distinction, a bachelor’s degree in English creative writing, and a minor in sociology in 2016. During my time as a Jayhawk, I interned as a news reporter for The Gazette, a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper in Colorado Springs, in 2014 and The Desert Sun, a Gannett-owned newspaper in Palm Springs, California, in 2015. I also explored radio reporting as an Arts and Culture producer for KJHK 90.7 FM and reported for USA TODAY College, a national college news blog, and The University Daily Kansan, the KU student-run newspaper.

Puns and other jokes can be found on my Twitter. When not conforming to AP Style, I mutinously support the Oxford comma.
